From DMs to a real store

Paolo Arroyo ·

A lot of good businesses in the Philippines start in the DMs. You post a product on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, someone comments “How much?”, and the sale happens in a chat. It’s simple, it’s free, and it works.

Until it doesn’t. At some point, the same chats that built your business start slowing it down. This post is about how to spot that point, and what changes when you move orders into a real store.

Signs it’s time to move orders into a store

Not every seller needs a store. If you get a handful of orders a week and you enjoy chatting with each customer, DMs might be exactly right for now.

But if a few of these sound familiar, it’s probably time:

You answer the same questions all day. “How much?” “Is this still available?” “What sizes?” “How much is shipping to Cebu?” Every answer takes a minute, and those minutes add up fast.

Orders get lost. A customer messages on Instagram, follows up on Messenger, and sends proof of payment somewhere else. You scroll back through three apps to find out what they ordered.

You track stock in your head or on paper. You sold the last medium, but the post is still up, and two more people just asked for it.

Payments take too long to confirm. You check screenshots of GCash transfers one by one and match them to names in your chats.

You can’t step away. If you stop replying for a day, sales stop too.

None of these mean you’re doing it wrong. They mean your business has grown past what chat can handle.

What a real store adds

A store takes the repetitive parts of selling and handles them for you, day and night. Here’s what our Online Store includes.

A product catalog with sizes and variants. Every product has its own page with photos, price, and options like size or color. Customers can see what you sell without asking.

GCash, Maya and card payments. Customers pay on the spot, using the methods they already use. No more checking screenshots and matching names.

COD and shipping rates. Many customers still prefer cash on delivery, so it stays an option. Shipping rates are set up so customers see the total before they order, and you don’t have to calculate it in chat.

Order notifications and a simple admin. When an order comes in, you get notified. Every order is in one place, with the customer’s details, what they bought, and how they paid. You can see what needs packing today without scrolling through chats.

Keep your social pages as the storefront window

Moving orders into a store doesn’t mean leaving social media. Your Instagram, TikTok and Facebook pages are still where people discover you. That doesn’t change.

Think of your social pages as the window of your shop, and the store as the counter. People see something they like in the window, then walk in to buy it.

In practice, that looks like this:

  • Put your store link in your bio and pinned posts
  • When someone asks “How much?”, reply with the product link
  • Share new arrivals on social, and point people to the store to order
  • Keep chatting with customers who want help. You’ll just have fewer “How much?” messages and more time for real questions

You keep the personal touch that got you your first customers. You just stop doing the same small tasks by hand.

The ₱35,000 Online Store

Our Online Store starts at ₱35,000. It includes the catalog, GCash, Maya and card payments, COD and shipping rates, and order notifications with a simple admin.

Like every project we do, there’s no down payment. You message us, and we build a free preview within 1–3 days. If you like it, we send a short brief and a fixed price in writing. A store takes up to two weeks to build. Then you get a private link to test everything on your phone, and we make changes until it’s right. You pay only at launch, when you’re happy with it.

After launch, maintenance keeps the store online, from ₱3,500 a month. That covers hosting, domain, SSL, daily backups, uptime monitoring, and fixes if something breaks. If you’d like help adding new products or updating prices each month, content updates are an optional add-on.

If your DMs are starting to feel like a second job, send us your page link. We’ll build a free preview of your store in 1–3 days, using your real products, so you can see what it looks like before deciding anything. Or book a free call and tell us how you sell today.
